Library Committee

The Library committee is constituted to forward recommendations to the management regarding the functioning of the Library. The committee members consist of the Principal, the Librarian, the Heads of the Departments and a student representative.
Infrastructure

  • Library has a total area of 4050 sq.ft. Eighty two users (including the seating capacity in the network resource centre) can be accommodated in the library at a time.
  • A gate register is established at the library entrance to mark the attendance of the users swiping barcode attached ID cards in the networked client system.
  • The important functions such as cataloguing, classification, circulation, stock verification and searching (OPAC) are automated using standard library software “Book magic”.
  • The UGC network resource centre provides ten internet connected computers which enables users to access electronic resources of remote login.
  • Online public access catalogue (OPAC) provides access to bibliographic details of internal collection of the library.
  •  Library database is connected with internet (Web OPAC) which enables users to access library resources sitting anywhere in the world.
  • The CD ROM work station provides access to number of CD ROMs which can be viewed and necessary information can be downloaded into storage devices.
  • To ensure safety and security of the library documents a web camera security system is installed in the Library.

Resources

  •         Library resources include both printed and digital format. We have a book collection of more than fourteen thousand and subscribe to periodical collection of fifty four numbers including  24 scholarly journals.
  •     We also subscribe to two electronic databases:

a)       N-LIST (National Library Information Services for Scholarly Content) contains 6000+ e-journals and 90000+ e-books which can be accessed by faculty and students using individual ID and password created for the purpose.

b)      DELNET (Developing Library Network) is a network of Delhi based libraries. This network provides access to bibliographic details of thousands of various documents and articles. Required books and articles  can be obtained through inter library loan (ILL) paying required fee.
