EXTENSION ACTIVITIES

Seven Doctoral research scholars have proposed and completed individual community projects to enhance their research skills and all the first year PG students were also participated in these projects and mentored by research scholars. These projects helped to develop a research aptitude in PG students of Msc Clinical Psychology . In each Project, there were one Project In -charge and three M. Sc Clinical Psychology students.

  • Counselling and mental health among Higher Secondory Students By Sr Julie (Ph.D Scholar)
  • Liby Leo Akkara (Research Scholar) served as a Resource person for the workshop conducted by School of Drama & Fine Arts, University of Calicut, Dr John Matthai Centre, Aranattukara, as part of Mukthadhara Anti-Drug Campaign on 5th January 2023.
  • Pulari C (Research Scholar) – Case Management Workshop on “A brief introduction on Child case history taking format” (for B.Sc. 3rd year students) organized by MES Asmabi College, Dept. of Psychology 16th January 2023.
  • Shiny P K & Ajitha V A (Research Scholars) conducted an interactive Motivational session for High school students of Government Vocational Higher Secondary School, Pudukad on “Action is Key to Success” a Community engagement program on 3rd February 2023.
  • Jisha P K (Research Scholar) served as a resource person and delivered a topic on “Asserting Personal Values in Interpersonal Relationship” as a part of Poorna, a Kerala Govt. Project for the adolescents conducted in Thirumittacode Panchayat on 11th February 2023.
  • Bayana BOMS (Research Scholar) – Served as a resource person in a Two-day workshop on “Life Skills” for students organized by Darul Anwar Wafiyya College, Pattambi on 13 – 14 February 2023.
  • Sukanya B Menon and research scholars Bayana BOMS, Ajitha V A, Jisha P K & Liby Leo Akkara of Department of Psychology participated in the Local government body level half-day workshop on “One local body – One Idea (OLOI)” organized by KILA, Thrissur hosted by Pudukad Gramapanchayath at Panchayat Hall on 15th February 2023. Actively take part in the group discussion and Solutions to the problem presented by the local people were discussed in the group and presented thereafter.
  • Shiny P K (Research Scholar) handled a session on “How are You”, for students of Pompei St.Mary’s VHSS, Kattoor on 16th February 2023
  • Debate organized debate competition for college students on “Seeking Higher Education abroad: Where Kerala stands?” and Bayana BOMS (Research Scholar) served as a moderator at St. Teresa’s Hall, Prajyoti Niketan College, Pudukad on 16th February 2023.

JOURNAL CLUB

In order to make students aware of the recent trends in psychological research a Journal club is formed in Department of Psychology . Reserch scholars and PG students take part in this club and they present published research articles from various psychology journals for the critical evaluation of these articles. Journal Club Presentation provides the fellows with opportunities, to develop skills in research article analysis, professionalpresentations, improve communication skills, and to increase knowledge on topic of interest
