ADDITIONAL SKILL ACQUISITION PROGRAMME (ASAP)
An initiative by Government of Kerala started in the college in 2013. We are successfully running the seventh batch. ASAP aims at equipping selected students with skills in communication, IT and selected areas of industry and service sectors with the objective of building a pool of skilled personnel with adequate skills, in line with the requirements of the industry. At Level 1, ASAP imparts 300 hours of skill training to selected first year degree students (30 per batch, maximum 2 batches in an institution). Of this, 180 hours will be a foundation module comprising of Communication Skills and IT skills, which shall be conducted in the college. The foundation classes under ASAP will be engaged by Skill Development Executives (SDE) identified by the Government/Industry, generally for one hour on working days, before/after the normal working hours of the Institution. The remaining 120 hours will be the module related to the skill sector chosen by the student. These classes shall be conducted in Skill Development Centres on holidays.
