Dr Shaijan Paul steps down as the most energetic and dynamic Principal of Prajyoti Niketan College on May 31, 2021. Having assumed the reins of Prajyoti on August 2009 as Principal in charge, he was later elevated to the helm of affairs on April 1, 2010. The eleven golden years of his stewardship had witnessed tremendous upsurge in the growth of Prajyoti Niketan College.
Ably guiding us for more than a decade, Dr Shaijan Paul had revamped the face of Prajyoti with his sharp insights and administrative prowess. His effective leadership coupled with the toil of management and staff had fetched for us an A Grade in the NAAC Assessment and Accreditation. Transforming the Department of Psychology into a full-fledged PG Department and Research Centre has been another golden feather in his cap. Dr Shaijan Paul is credited to have given the greatest number of freeships to almost all students in the backdrop of Covid-19. This has carved a special niche for him in the minds of students. Donating oxygen bed to Govt Hospital, Pudukad under Kodakara Taluk bears ample testimony to his humanitarian streak.
Having made Prajyoti Niketan College a wifi campus, Dr Shaijan Paul had judiciously set the underpinnings of online teaching-learning process and managed Covid pandemic. Close on the heels, Prajyoti has been on ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) mode too. Several buildings had been constructed and renovated during his tenure. The Air-conditioned Auditorium, Psychology Block, Lab and Open Air Stage are the recent ones to mention a few.
Dr Shaijan Paul had extended great support to Dr Fr Harshajan Pazhayattil, the Founder Manager and Director in fulfilling his profound dream of a politics-free campus. The whole Prajyoti family is proud to announce that not even a single day had been lost due to strikes or sit-ins at Prajyoti. Moreover, Prajyoti Niketan is the only mixed college in the whole of Kerala to have shunned campus politics, lock stock and barrel thanks to the academic fillip extended by Dr Shaijan Paul. May God shower His choicest blessings on Dr Shaijan Paul to have a peaceful and pro-active retirement life.
