Prajyothi Niketan College insists updation of knowledge and expertise among faculty members in their relevant subjects. So the institution emphasis on research activities among teachers. Most of the faculties have Doctorate in their concerned subject and others are in the verge of completing their PhD programme. A research centre was sanctioned by University of Calicut for the Department of Psychology and for the past three years the research centre is actively enrolling research scholars for their PhD research. In the academic year 2017 -18, three faculty members of psychology Dr Varghese Paul, Dr Monsy Edward, Dr Sukanya B Menon got research guideship and in 2018-19, Dr Nice Mary Francis, Dr Milu Maria Anto, Dr Soumya Starlet and Dr Jaya A T from psychology department, Dr Binu P Chacko from computer science department and Dr Dhanya Menon from English Department got research guideship.
A vibrant atmosphere of research is provided to the research scholars and they are doing socially relevant researches under the guideship of these faculties. Ph.D programme is carried out based on the Calicut University regulation ( U.O.No. 1313/2017/Admn dated 03.02.2017). Reviewing and
finalisation of research topic and periodic review of the progress of the research work is monitored by research advisory committee. Prajyoti Niketan College offers all the infrastructure required by the scholars for their effective performance. Faculties of all departments are doing various Minor research projects in order to enhance their research aptitude and certain external projects are also guided by these faculties. Research Scholars are conducting community projects to improve their research skills. PG students of the research centre are achieving knowledge regarding current research areas by actively involving in outreach programmes.
Publication of research articles are promoted among faculties and students. They are also attending and presenting their research papers in various International and National conferences. Not only that all the departments are actively organizing various Regional, National and International seminars which inturn have a great impact on improving the knowledge and inquisitiveness among students and faculties.
