STUDENT LIFE

Founded in 1951, the Xavier Board of Higher Education in India aims at an integral education of the members of the society, including co-operative skill training sessions. It represents 352 Institutes of higher education in India, including deemed and private universities. It is the only association of Catholic institutions of Higher Education in India. Officially recognized by the CBCI, it functions in collaboration with the CBCI Commission for Education and Culture to promote a better altruistic society. The Xavier Board organizes programmes for teachers and students, inspired by a Christian vision that will inspire them to strive to meet the emerging needs and challenges. Leadership Training programmes, value based educational sessions, competitions to develop the intellectual potential of students are organized. Every year, a meeting for the faculty is also organized to provide innovative inputs that would enable them to serve the society in a better way. The Triennial Conference of the Xavier Board of Higher Education is also a special programme organized every three years for the faculty. Recently, Dr Thomas D’Souza,

Archbishop of Kolkata and Chairman of the Catholic Bishops Conference of India’s Commission for Education and Culture inaugurated the event, at Don Bosco Institute, Kharguli to discuss the National Education Policy, 2019 and other relevant topics affecting higher education in India. The members discussed about the challenges that emerge in the field of Higher Education and the strategies that can be implemented to counter the same.
