PROGRAMMES OF ENGLISH DEPARTMENT
BA English Language and Literature Programme opens the portals of the prospects and possibilities of English Language and Literature. The programme equips the students to communicate effectively through writing as well as speaking. It inculcates reading skills with critical faculties necessary in an academic environment empowering them to be competent in a complex world. The programme is dexterously designed to enhance the intellectual flexibility, creativity and cultural cohesiveness of the students to help them engage in life long learning. By developing a creative and aesthetic bend of mind, the students could empathetically involve in the discourses of the interdependent world. The academic temper of the curriculum enables them to perform research, analysis and criticism from the perspective of Language and Literature.

ABILITY ENHANCEMENT COURSES/AUDIT COURSES
These are courses which are mandatory for a programme but not counted for the calculation of SGPA or CGPA. There shall be one Audit Course each in the first four semesters. These courses are not meant for class room study. The students can attain only pass (Grade P) for these courses. At the end of each semester there shall be examination conducted by the college from a pool of questions (Question Bank) set by the University. The students can also attain these credits through online courses like SWAYAM, MOOC etc (optional). The list of passed students will be sent to the University from the colleges at least before the fifth semester examination. The list of courses in each semester with credits are given below:
