It is with immense pleasure and pride, we at Prajyoti Niketan College, Computer Science Department, join and share with you our journey of excellence. Twenty five long years is a good enough period to assess the performance in all respects. Started in 1995, it is one of the pioneers in starting B.Sc Computer Science graduation programme in the University of Calicut. This has made courses in technology accessible to a vast majority of the students which otherwise was restricted to a few streams in Engineering Colleges. Democratising a marquee course has been a liberating experience which speaks much more than many of the empowerment moves that is happening in the contemporary world which were more limited to words than in action. A college that imbibes the state of the art technology without compromising its roots is a standing testimony to the fusion between the ancient Gurukula system and the present online community. Students of the department are boosted through a number of seminars, workshops, conferences, exhibitions and training programmes, where they acquire skills to compete in the unforgiving corporate world in any industry. Our department has bagged the highest number of ranks in the University of Calicut starting from 1998 until the semester system was introduced in 2010. Moreover, many of our students are being selected through campus placements in various Multi National Companies like Deloitte, Wipro, Infosys, TCS, Accenture and so on during their final year of study. Our Department has produced hundreds of professionals and has established a name for itself in the country and abroad. Many of our alumni students hold influential positions in the Information Technology industry and academia, at both National and International levels. It is with a lot of pride, we look at our alumni who have established a name for themselves in their area of work adding aura and grandeur to their mother institution. Deeply connected to their college, alumni meets provide a platform wherein a helping hand is provided to the present students of the college to explore further into their future and be aware of the various opportunities. I attribute this success to the winning combination of a dedicated faculty that work hard at imparting quality education and to our talented and hardworking students. .
